From O'Brien's Pub News:
"It is one of my favorite times of the year – hop harvest. And that means fresh hop beers made with hops picked right off the vines and used before they are dried. San Diego has a small but growing hop farm community. We have teamed up with the San Diego Hop Growers Association (http://www.sdhga.org/) to bring you a weekend of San Diego hopped beers on September 11, 12 and 13. The hop harvest in San Diego happens earlier than the hop harvest in the northwest where most of the country’s hops are grown. And while we will be doing our regular Wet Hop Festival on October 16, 17 and 18, we just couldn’t wait to tap all of the delicious locally hopped brews this year. We are expecting more than 15 beers brewed with San Diego grown hops from Mexico to Temecula with lots of San Diego breweries in there. Look for information on the Facebook page as we continue to confirm the line up (https://www.facebook.com/obrienspubsd). We are expecting beers from Culture, Insurgente, Chuckalek, Iron Fire, Monkey Paw, South Park Brewing, Nickel and several others. The plan is to tap the beers on Friday and pour them through the weekend. We’ll have members of the San Diego Hop Growers Association there on Saturday the 12th from roughly 1-5 pm to talk hops and answer questions about growing hops in San Diego. Don’t miss this one a year chance to taste this delicious wet hopped beers." |
